On one of my multiple trips to the fabric store last week, I found this wonderful sweet fabric with young ladies playing in the rain on a pink background. Living in the rainy northwest, where it is gloomy and sprinkling 8-10 months of the year, this fabric spoke to me. Immediately, I bought all the fabric I could get. As of this post, it is currently sold out from my supplier, and only have enough to make one more dress and skirt, but I am hoping, as I do for so many of my favorite, that they will restock and I can get more of this fabric for clothing purchases.
I wanted to pick a vintage pattern that could be worn in the summer and be paired with a sweater in colder weather. The one I chose, is a vintage advance pattern with a gathered top and a full skirt.
This had become a staple dress of mine because it is incredibly comfortable. With Portland, rain happens all year round, so this beautiful frock is never out of season!
