It may be silly, but I love the holidays. My mom has always been one who decorated for nearly every occasion although we were never very religious. My mom would change the milk pink or green for Valentine’s Day and St Patrick’s. Every chance to change the decor, and make crafts was celebrated.
This summer, I was trying to plan out all my holiday line items. I searched high and low, but found the fabric I liked, was discontinued in 2011. Lo and behold, at my local shop, I found a bolt of this fabric, and scooped it all up.
The fabric sat in my stash all summer while I giggled whenever I got a sneak peak of it. Finally, it seemed appropriate to start my holiday line but I wanted to try out a new dress design. I have a giant collection of vintage patterns, so after a little surveying, I pulled out this top.
I had to grade the pattern, as most vintage I have is extremely small. After a quick and dirty muslin that fit to my satisfaction, I began cutting into my precious limited material.
Omg Omg Omg squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! I already love the pattern placement! I wanted to make this a higher top, as like most people, I tend to get chilly in the winter! I am happy to say the dress turned out perfect (AND IT HAS POCKETS)! If you would like one of your very own, I have a very limited amount of this fabric left! You can get your own here!
