Last holiday I was connected with a client who wanted to get their very own tiki style jacket as a gift for their husband. Knowing the holidays were days away, I knew I wouldn’t able to finish the item on time so we devised a plan to set up a gift card. More recently we have been able to move forward to make that tiki tuxedo jacket a reality.
First thing was to spend some time preparing the size pattern. This always takes me a bit and there are several more pieces need for a jacket than a usual shirt!
After deciding on a custom spoonflower fabric, we moved forward. Yes this is the jacket in 28 pieces! It is made from a custom print on cotton twill. The jacket is unlined for summer time breath-ability with decorative welts for the perfect tuxedo ensemble. I also made a matching bow tie! The tuxedo jacket can be custom purchased here along side the matching bow tie.
